Do you think its rude to paint furniture someone gave you?
A friend of mine gave me a very traditional child rocking chair to give to my friend who is expecting her first child. However, it really isn't her style so as a present, I was thinking about repainting it for her and making it more up to date and more her style. Would you get mad if someone did that to a piece of furniture you gave them? I really don't want to offend my friend who gave me the chair.

No, a gift is a gift to do with as you please. Repaint it to match the new child's room or a disney character.

Or you can ask your friend and If the friend if she minds and if she does give her back the chair.
maybe yous hould kinda run the idea thorugh her first. just as a heads up.
but you should do whatever you watn cause its yours now.
If she gave it to you, then it's yours to do with what you please.
I sure wouldn't be mad. I gave you something, it's yours. You can do what ever you want to do with it, if it's something made of wood, then you could use it as firewood for all I care. You don't need to explain your self to the giver as to why your gonna repaint it. So, just go a head and paint it. I don't even know why you would even ask a question of such.

Good luck...
No. If she GAVE it to you, it's now yours and you can do whatever you like with it, including sticking it in the fireplace and burning it for fuel.
She gave it away, it's no longer hers. You can do anything to improve it.
