Rocking chair for baby's room- from IKEA?
Has anyone used the "Poang" chair from IKEA instead of a traditional rocker? I was wondering how it would work.

I had a normal rocking chair in my nursery when i had my daughter and at nights it was quite dangerous for me as i would often doze off through a feed! only for a few seconds but thats all it takes! be sure you want one before you buy one!! lol
I was so excited when my in-laws gave me a family heirloom traditional rocker for our baby! It took me about 3 days to hate it because a)it would flip back when you sat in it unless you used your hands to steady it, not so possible with a child in your armsb) it "scooted" across the floor even if you rocked it gently, so you always ended up with the back of the chair bumping into the closet door and c) the seat was narrow, with arm rests on either side and if the baby squirmed, he was constantly in danger of bashing his head. It is currently merely for decoration.

This looks like a much better option to me, though you might wish for padded arm rests.
