Is it okay to have a china hutch in the living room?
Other things in the room is a fireplace, a big square ottoman, a modern love seat and a rocking chair. Thanks for any suggestions.

Yes, and you don't have to use it for china. You can display your doll collection (or whatever) in it.
We recently purchased a dining room set that consisted of a table , eight chairs, a china hutch, and a buffet. Even though our dining room is quite large, it was a little tight with all the pieces in there. So we moved the buffet to the living room, and it worked out great. We tend to decorate in "mongrel" decor, that is if we like it we buy it and make it work.
It's your hutch and your living room. If putting it in there makes you happy, then, yes, it's OK.
does it feel good, and help with the flow of your house, then yes!
you can use it in the living room but maybe fill it with stuff other then china.. use it for storage of books, dvds.. other decorative items would do well too
